Clinical Pilates
Physio-led small group classes.
Clinical Pilates Classes at SANO Physio, Brisbane.
Pilates that’s personal - even in a group.
Clinical Pilates at SANO is Pilates built around you. Every class is run by a physiotherapist, capped at 4 people, and based on your own assessment. It suits people with back or neck pain, anyone rebuilding core and pelvic floor strength, people returning after injury or surgery, and anyone who has never done Pilates and wants to start properly.
Our classes were designed and delivered by physiotherapists. With only 4 people in the room, your physio watches your technique, corrects it as you go, and adjusts your exercises every session. You'll work through your own program in a small group, with the motivation of training alongside others.
What to Expect from Clinical Pilates class?
Studio Pilates classes put everyone through the same routine. Clinical Pilates starts with your assessment and is built based on your goals.
Your own program, in a class of 4
Before your first class, your physio assesses how you move, where you're having problems and what you want to achieve. You then get a program built for you. Everyone in the class works on their own exercises, at their own level.
Built on 5 core principles
Every program starts with the foundations of Pilates: standing posture and alignment, diaphragm breathing, awareness of your deep abdominal muscles, pelvic floor activation, and controlled, precise movement. Once those are reliable, we add load and challenge.
Progress you can measure
We record where you start and review you formally after 12 classes. Depending on your goals, that includes strength testing with VALD Force Decks and Dynamo, along with movement and pain scores. You'll see how far you've come, and your physio will set your next block.
Practice between classes
You'll get a take-home mat program through our exercise app, so you can keep building between sessions.
